That's What She Gets...

...for going in water.

I never understood why humans take water baths. It's so...primitive. Us cats have it easy. We're our own portable washing machines. You think that humans would have learned something from our effective bathing methods but noooooo.

Last night, Mom went to take a shower. This hasn't been easy since they put the cast on her leg. Now she has to wrap a garbage bag around her leg to cover the cast and then use duck tape to secure it. Hehe. Well, what she didn't know what that there was a hole in the bag and it got all full of water. The entire cast got sopping wet. It's a soft cast too so it's all squishy and sogging and it's driving Mom nuts.

She called the doctor to find out what to do 'cause the cut where the doctor did the surgery got wet too and is really itching and burning. Now she's got to go to the doctor today to get a new cast on. She's all scared too 'cause she hasn't left the top floor of the house since she got home from the surgery. She says crutches are evil and steps are even worse.

Honestly, she gets no sympathy from me. If she just listened to me and licked herself clean, she wouldn't have gotten into this mess to begin with.

P.S. Why do they call it duck tape? It doesn't look like a duck. Oh wait. Mom is saying it's duct tape. Bah. Duck tape sounds better even if it doesn't have duckies on it. Maybe it could be used to tie up duckies so we can have them for dinner? Hey, she's the one that says it has 101 uses. Maybe use 102 could be used to tie up duckies.

I agree with you. Who would want to take a bath by getting all wet?

My Bean bring home pink duck tape, so I guess she is planning on taping up a flamingo.

Our Mommy sometimes sits in a whoel tub full of water. its realyl weird. Doesn't she know that tubs are for playing in, not sitting in water in?

We hope your Mommy's cast and cut are ok!

Hi Monkee! Nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by our blog. Yeah, 10 cats is too many. We live in a small house and we have hissy fights a lot.

Sorry to hear about your mom's cast getting wet. Maw did that years and years ago when she broke her foot and took a shower. But it was a hard cast and they wouldn't replace it. So she blow-dried it. Forever.

Sorry to hear about your mom having to be in a cast. That's no fun. Hope she can get out of it soon.

No worries about supporting different teams. My sissy supports the Giants and we will wave to each other across the stadium. I just like cheering!

Your poor mom! Our mom can sympathize - when she had foot surgery, she had to be really careful not to get it wet.

As for baths, well, we Sphynx need weekly baths. We have no fur for the oils our skin secretes to distribute itself through, so the oil builds up on our skin. Our tongues can't keep up with it all, even though we groom ourselves like other cats. And so, we need weekly baths, or else we can get all kinds of skin problems.

You are such a lovely Coony Cat! Our mamma used to have a coony too, long time ago she says he was the sweetest thing ever.

Well, Monkee it's obvious that you are the brains of the household - we don't understand the 'getting all wet' to get clean business either. We do hope your Mom manages to get to the doctor okay, and get a new dry cast.
